Launching on the occasion of Planet Patna's first anniversary — 25 July 2026 — to honor outstanding individuals in art, culture, and heritage, nationally or internationally.

Planet Patna Annual Recognition Award for Excellence in Heritage, Art and Culture

Background and
Concept

Planet Patna, since its inception, has strived to serve as a dynamic platform dedicated to the documentation, preservation, and promotion of our cultural and historical heritage. On the occasion of its first anniversary (25th July 2026), Planet Patna proposes to launch an Annual Recognition Program to honor outstanding individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the fields of art, culture, and heritage — nationally or internationally.

This recognition not only celebrates individual achievement but also reinforces Planet Patna's mission to encourage excellence and create a participatory ecosystem for heritage professionals, educators, artists, and scholars.

Objectives of the
Program

  • To acknowledge and celebrate outstanding contributions in heritage, art and culture.
  • To promote scholarly exchange and professional dialogue through pre-anniversary activities.
  • To position Planet Patna as a credible, independent platform for heritage advocacy and recognition.
  • To inspire young professionals and students in the museum and heritage sector.

Fields of
Recognition

The recognition will be conferred in four major fields, representing diverse expressions within the heritage ecosystem:

Cultural Heritage and
Museum Studies

Museum professionals, curators, or museologists demonstrating excellence in collection management, exhibition design, or public engagement.

Archival and Documentation
Excellence

Archivists, historians, or researchers who have contributed notably to preserving, digitizing, or interpreting archival materials.

Community Heritage and Cultural
Education

Individuals or institutions fostering community-based projects, heritage walks, or educational outreach that preserve intangible heritage.

Ancestral Collections and
Preservation

Individuals or institutions excelling in the discovery, conservation, documentation, or repatriation of family, community, or ancestral artifacts and heirlooms.
